Animated. Look it up and you will find a variety of definitions: to make lively; to bring something to life; filled with activity, vigor or spirit. Vital, dynamic, passionate, vibrant.
And thus, the name of my company and my mission were born.
A naturally quiet and reserved person, when it comes to horses, I become animated. Like most horse lovers, I could talk about my own horse for hours. When it comes to helping horses I become even more passionate.
When I retired from corporate life several years ago, I knew that the next phase of my life needed to involve helping these magnificent creatures for their own sake and for that of their riders.
When I started looking for ideas on how I could serve horses and their human partners, my research led me to the tangible and proven benefits of equine massage therapy. Once that decision was made, I haven’t looked back. The more I learned, the more I wanted to learn. I invested in my initial training and certification via Equissage in Round Hill, VA. And then just over a year later, I took another week long bodywork course from Sport Horse Therapeutic Equine Massage (including some nutrition, saddle fit and hoof instruction) out in Laramie, WY. Then the Basic Course of the Master MethodTM Integrated Equine Performance Bodywork, soon followed by the Advanced Course out in Fairfield, Iowa. Then, after dozens of graded case studies and multiple sessions with expert coaches to refine & perfect technique, I received my certification in The Masterson Method™ of Integrated Equine Performance Bodywork™ ( Click here for more info on Masterson Method ). Nobody in this area has the diverse training I do. And I will continue to look for opportunities to learn so that I build upon a truly comprehensive set of ‘tools’ with which to help your horse. I want to make sure your horse is comfortable, happy, dynamic and vibrant in his or her work…Animated.
So when you hire The Animated Horse Equine Bodywork to work on your horse, you are hiring someone who puts your horse’s best interest first with experience, quality and comprehensive training and a passion to help each horse work free of pain and restrictions. Because my mission is to enhance the health and improve the performance of as many horses in the Michigan area as I can literally lay my hands on.
